I know, I know.
You feel excited, but at the same time, you’re nervous about your upcoming product launch! ?
While you’ve spent a huge amount of time and effort to create your product, you wonder if people are going to love it.
Based on my experience with product launches, I need to tell you this:
You can have an amazing product.
But if nobody hears about it, nobody buys it. A person or two may find your product, but that’s not enough to increase your revenue and grow your business!
In today’s post, I’m going to show you the top 9 ways you can promote a product launch.
(Out of these strategies, I use five of them in my own business - you can check them out in the video below ??)
9 Ways to Get Attention for Your Product Launch
Below are the product launch ideas to build hype and gain massive traffic.
1. Work with affiliates.
One of the main strategies I use to drive traffic to my launch is by leveraging affiliates. Affiliates are people who earn commissions by recommending other products.
By using affiliates, you get to extend the reach of your brand in no time.
Start reaching out to affiliates. There are many places to look for, such as affiliate networks and directories. Popular sites include JVZoo and ClickBank.
You can also do a Google search of bloggers in your niche. Be sure to choose bloggers who have an established audience and pitch your affiliate program to them.
Do you have current customers? If so, email them to let them know that they can earn by promoting your new product.
One of the mistakes I did when doing product launches was that I failed to keep my affiliates in the loop. You need to keep them updated about the launch schedule so they can prepare ahead of time!
Give them marketing materials that they can use for the launch.
2. Find influencers to talk about your product.
It’s extremely challenging for new businesses to stand out in a crowded digital marketplace. You probably already have hundreds of thousands of competitors who are ahead of you.
But guess what?
You don’t have to do it alone. You can partner with influencers. An influencer could be a blogger, vlogger, journalist, or social media sensation who has a significant following.
Don’t just choose any influencer because he or she is popular; choose someone who is an expert in your niche.
If you’re in the fitness niche, partner with an influencer who’s a known fitness enthusiast. If you’re promoting a baby product, you need a mommy influencer.

3. Start with your email list.
Email deserves a place on your product launch checklist, especially if you already have a subscriber list. Why not email your current subscribers?
Starting with your email list is a smart and cost-effective move.
After all, this is what email marketing is all about - keeping in touch with your audience so you can continue to provide value.
Here are a few tips and tricks for a successful product launch email campaign:
Send a teaser email two weeks before your launch.
This sparks curiosity and builds anticipation about your offer. Don’t announce your product yet! Just let your subscribers know that something exciting is going to happen.
Reveal your product one week before the launch date.
Show your email list everything about your product - from the launch date to the images. Be sure to explain its benefits. Offering an early bird discount or free shipping encourages sales.
Continue the excitement post-launch.
Your work isn’t over even after the launch date. Keep the conversation going so that your product stays top of mind. Share user testimonials or positive comments you received on social media. Consider enticing those who haven’t bought yet with a discount code.
4. Use crowdfunding platforms.
Many small businesses nowadays use crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Patreon to obtain funding for their project.
But even if you already have the funds you need for your product, it doesn’t mean that crowdfunding platforms are useless.
One of the biggest benefits of crowdfunding is that it helps you attract early adopters. People who love your product will talk about it with their friends, increasing word-of-mouth marketing.
Crowdfunding is also an opportunity to validate your ideas. People ask you questions and provide feedback. This helps you know whether your product really has potential and what aspects of it can be improved.
5. Start a viral marketing campaign using UpViral.
Did you know that you can 10x the success of your product launch by doing viral marketing?
If you don’t know what viral marketing is, it’s a business strategy where you get people to share information about your product to as many people as possible in less time.
One of the most popular examples of viral marketing is Dropbox’s campaign. They encouraged word-of-mouth and went from 100,000 to 4,000,000 in fifteen months by offering free space to their users.
Dropbox required them to do just one thing: Invite their friends to sign-up!
This shows how viral marketing can drive instant awareness to your product launch.
Here's the good news: You can replicate Dropbox’s strategy using our viral marketing platform, UpViral.
With UpViral, you can set up a viral marketing campaign from start to finish.
On your UpViral landing page, entice people with a reward (your product) by entering their name and email, and referring their friends to sign up.
Those who complete the required number of referrals or the person who acquires the most points will win your product.
Of course, you decide how many people win in your viral marketing contest. If you’re launching an ebook, you could give it away to three or more winners. But if it’s something more expensive, like a piece of furniture or a bunkie, you could have one winner.
Here’s a case study that reveals how an UpViral user gained $38,458 in sales during their pre-launch.
6. Run Facebook ads.
It’s no secret that social media is a powerful tool for modern-day marketers.
When it comes to social media sites, Facebook is still the best, especially with its advertising platform. The number one reason why Facebook Ads really work is that Facebook’s targeting capabilities are superb.
You can target people based on their interests, behaviors, and demographics. That way, your new product is likely to be seen by potential customers.
Using video for your FB ad helps people easily remember you. Video ads grab attention and make potential customers stop what they’re doing!
7. Go live on Facebook and Instagram.
If there’s one huge thing that live video does, it’s that it lets you get personal with your audience. Live videos are authentic and they encourage engagement, too!
Check out these stats (from Livestream.com) that show how great live video can be for your product launch:
- 80% of people would rather watch a live video than read a blog.
- 82% prefer live video from a brand to social posts.
- 87% would prefer to watch online if it showed behind-the-scenes content.
You can get started with Facebook or Instagram using your mobile device.
In your live video, show your new product and explain to your audience how it can be used in their daily lives.
Use this as an opportunity to do a Q&A as well. Let people ask questions about your product and answer them as best as you can!
8. Create written content about the launch.
Writing a product launch blog post is a simple yet effective way to get the word out.
Don’t just publish it on your blog. Promote it on social media channels to get it to a wider audience.
If you don’t have any website traffic yet, you can submit your article as a guest post on authoritative websites. Make sure that the site you write a guest post for is relevant to your niche.
9. Plan an event in your area.
Last but definitely not least, consider holding a launch event.
Be strategic about the event. Choose the right venue for your launch. For example, if you’re releasing a tech product, pick a venue that’s been used for tech launches. Pick a relevant theme.
Make your product launch event a big deal by promoting it as best as you can. Even if you’ve hired an agency or another company to promote your event, make sure that your marketing team promotes it as well.
Here’s a cool idea: Livestream your launch event on Facebook or YouTube to reach people who cannot attend it!

That’s it about the best ways to attract more attention to your upcoming product launch! You may not be able to use all of the ideas above, but I’m sure at least one will be extremely helpful.
